Oregon Baseball: Ducks Host Second Place Washington Huskies

Oregon opens Pac-12 Play at PK Park hosting the Washington Huskies this weekend.

The Oregon Ducks Baseball team(13-5, 2-1 Pac-12) have won six of their last seven games, thanks in part to solid Starting Pitching from David Peterson. The Ducks Junior is 4-0 in his last four starts. In his first two starts he had 33 strikeouts combined. He will look to continue his domination on Friday night against the 2nd place team in the Conference, the Washington Huskies.

Washington is 13-7, 3-0 in the Pac-12 and in 2nd place in the Conference after one weekend of play. With a series win this weekend, Oregon can take over second place. Washington comes into PK Park ranked 23rd in the country. Last weekend vs Utah, the Huskies held the opposition to a .133 batting average doing the most Defensive Damage with their bullpen that held the Utes scoreless in 18 innings.

Washington has been consistent on Offense, hitting just 8 home runs this season. Joey Morgan and Jack Meggs lead the team with over 20 hits each. Both also have 7 doubles on the season. The Huskies are hitting .270 as a team.

Alex Hardy leads the Washington Pitching Staff with a 5-0 record along with a save and a 0.87 ERA. On the Ducks side, Matthew Dyer leads four players hitting better than .300 on the season.

The Oregon Ducks have a team ERA of 2.53 and are holding opponents to a .239 batting average.

George Horton and the Ducks will look to get off to a good start vs Washington on Friday night with David Peterson on the mound.
