The Oregon Ducks had Thursdays scheduled game rained out moving the Utah series to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday followed by a Monday game at BYU.

It is always a challenge in scheduling when the season calls for rain. The Oregon Ducks(15-6) had issues last season and have reached another hurdle this weekend with four games in four days. The weekend series shifted a day to Friday, Saturday and Sunday with Utah.

The Utah Utes won the Pac-12 Championship last season, but have started 2017 at 10-12 with some new faces on the roster. It is the Utes opening weekend of Pac-12 play at home. The Ducks face another team not big on the long ball. Utah has hit just five home runs this season. Dallas Carroll leads four batters hitting over .300 on the season. He also leads the team in hits with 34. As a team the Utes are hitting .282.

The Oregon Ducks enter the weekend winning four of their last five games, including taking two of three from the Washington Huskies last weekend at PK Park. Matthew Dyer and Gabe Matthews lead the Ducks. Jake Bennett and AJ Balta lead the team in walks. Oregon is batting .250 as a team.

However, it is pitching that is the strength of the 2017 Oregon Ducks, led by Starter David Peterson who has won his last five starts. He leads the team with 55 Strikeouts and multiple double digit strikeout games posting a 2.35 Earned Run Average.
