Oregon Softball: Ducks Challenge Past Arizona State, Remain Undefeated

The Oregon Ducks faced Arizona State taking the series winning by comeback and defensive effort in all three games.

Mike White watched his team go through some big challenges over the weekend. Arizona State forced Oregon to use all three of their pitchers on Saturday forcing the same possibility on Sunday. Megan Kleist had a better performance on Saturday going 6 1/3 and scattering 4 hits and no runs after a rough start on Friday.

Sunday was a battle on both sides as the game went scoreless till the end requiring an extra inning. The Oregon Ducks found a way. Maggie Balint threw for the final 1 and 2/3 inning for the win, her 16th on the year keeping the team undefeated on the season.

Nikki Udria, Mia Camuso and Haley Cruse were the heroes on Sunday in the 1-0 victory. Arizona State hit .179 for the game, Oregon managed .192. The Ducks were better when it came to advancement opportunities and in the end it is what won them the game.

The Oregon Ducks continue their current six game homestand hosting Portland State in a doubleheader on Tuesday(5pm, 7pm). The series was rescheduled from last month from a rain out. Pac-12 play resumes with an important series at UCLA this weekend.
