After success with the University of Oregon, Dion Jordan was selected third pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Jordan saw limited time on the field follownig substance abuse problems as well as the suspensions that went along with them. The culture in Miami at the time was also not the best as the team was trying to find their way.
Dion Jordan was released om March 31st for failing a physical. He passed a physical with Seattle and was signed by the Seahawks on Tuesday. The former Oregon Ducks Defensive End will have a fresh start with a new team and hopefully healthy. Part of the problem in Miami was knee related over last season.
The football culture in Seattle should also help Jordan with his future development. According to NFL.com, there could be a spot on the Seahawks roster for the former Duck.
"For Seattle, it’s a swing at an athletic pass rusher with little risk. Jordan owns the athleticism to play either edge rusher or SAM linebacker in Pete Carroll’s defense.Kevin Patra on Dion Jordan (via NFL.com)"
