After losing out on Brandon McCoy last week, Oregon picked up a commitment from Transfer Elijah Wood.
It has been a good start to the week for Head Coach Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks. New Mexico Transfer Elijah Brown announced he will transfer to Oregon. This gives the team a big experienced piece entering next season, a piece that was desperately needed after the departures following the season via the NBA Draft and graduation.
Altman needs someone who can put up points and Brown did that last season averaging close to 19 points per game. He may be used in a similar role to Joseph Young who thrived under Altman and was drafted into the NBA. Young currently plays for the Indiana Pacers.
The arrival of Elijah Brown on campus should help Oregon right away. He has the chance to be an immediate Starter for 2017. While the talent that led the Oregon Ducks to their second Elite 8 and first Final Four since 1939 is mostly gone, Altman will have to work some magic.
Brown will help keep the Ducks competitive and give the incoming Freshman a chance to find their footing. The Lineup is beginning to get stronger with Elijah Brown, Troy Brown and returners in Payton Pritchard, Kavell Bigby-Williams to go along with Paul White and Michael Cage in the mix.
