Oregon Football Head Coach Willie Taggart has outlined what he is looking for in a leader for 2017 and it is a player after his own heart.

Taggart started in College Football as a Quarterback. It should not be much of a surprise that those qualities that include rallying the team, congratulating teammates and celebrating touchdowns is at the forefront. As it stands, the best signal caller on the Ducks roster is Justin Herbert, but the former Sheldon High School standout still has work to do to earn the reigns of the team.

"I’m looking for a guy that’s going to lead this football team. A guy that is going to rally not just Offense, but Defense and everyone. When we can find that guy then we’ll name who our Starting Quarterback will be.Oregon Football Head Coach Willie Taggart on naming a QB Starter."

Justin Herbert was thrust into the spotlight for the game against the Washington Huskies last season, had a close loss at Cal and entered Spring as the number one signal caller. In the Oregon Football Spring Game, he showed that he can work the pocket and the field going 16 for 26 for three touchdowns and over 300 yards of Offense.
