The Oregon Women’s Basketball team added a big piece of the future on Tuesday, adding Transfer Erin Boley.

Boley was the 2015-16 Gatorade National Player of the Year and saw limited action last season with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Notre Dame, like Oregon, made it to the NCAA Tournament but did not get out of the Round of 32. The Ducks, led by Freshman Sabrina Ionescu and Ruthy Hebard lost to Connecticut in the Elite 8.

The team clearly received some exposure and finished in the Top 20 in the National Polls.

Boley will have to sit out a season per NCAA Rules and will be an immediate contributor for the 2019 season. By then Ionescu and Hebard will be Juniors. She is a 6 foot 2 forward from Kentucky. Last season for Notre Dame she wasn’t used to her potential. In her final year of High School, she averaged 24 points and 10 rebounds per game.

ESPNW rated her the 5th best prospect that year, which was one spot behind Sabrina Ionescu.

Last season she played in 37 games, earned 10 starts and shot close to 40 percent from three-point range for Notre Dame. Her 116 attempts were third most on the team.

Erin Boley will be an impact player when she hits the floor for Oregon and should help a young nucleus. She will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
