Oregon Basketball Recruiting: Ducks Bring In Transfer MiKyle McIntosh For Visit

Dana Altman hosted Transfer MiKyle McIntosh from Illinois State earlier this week as he continues to build the 2017 roster.

As it stands the Oregon Ducks return one starter from last season in Payton Pritchard. Head Coach Dana Altman knows they key to success in a rebuilding year may be experience and he also knows that Pritchard could use some help. While the incoming recruiting class is stacked with talent and guys like Michael Cage and Paul White will certainly see floor time next season, when there is a need, you have to try and fill it.

Kavell Bigby-Williams played a big role last season his role did not quite pan out to what it could have been. As it stands, it is not known if Bigby-Williams will return to the Oregon Ducks next season. Earlier this month he said he is considering other options.

With that in mind  and the need for a post player, Altman has turned his attention toward Graduate Transfer MiKyle McIntosh. McInosh is 6 foot 7 and averaged 12 points and 5 rebounds per game for the Illinois State Redbirds last season. He hit 41 percent from the floor and close to 35 percent from three-point range.

With above average shooting numbers, McIntosh could enter a unique situation. He would bring experience to a team that will be lacking to start the season. The road for Oregon in 2017 is an uphill climb. Facing UConn on Thanksgiving Weekend to open the Phil Knight Invitational is the first of many tests for this team. Add to that, the exposure that will follow from last season.

It may be a perfect fit for Altman and the Ducks. MiKyle McIntosh would be eligible to play immediately.
