The Oregon Ducks Edward Cheserek will not go for his 18th NCAA Championship this week after being injured, but signed with an agency and will go Pro.

Cheserek who had his collegiate career end a few weeks ago from a lower back strain wasted no time in taking the next step. The former 17-time NCAA Champ signed with Total Sports US and will likely remain in the Eugene area and work and train with NIKE.

According to FloTrack, there are several former Oregon Athletes on the Total US Roster including Nick Symmonds, and Ben Blankenship, both had solid success at Oregon.

The lower back strain kept Cheserek out of the NCAA Regionals meaning he will not have the opportunity to defend his most recent Championship Titles in the 5000 and 10000 meters this coming week at the NCAA Championships at Hayward Field. He will certainly receive the most applause when he does return to the Track as a Professional at Hayward Field.

His talent will be missed this week at the NCAA Championships. He could always be counted on for key points on the first day. The Oregon Men will have to find those points elsewhere in the field.
