Former Oregon Football Quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. found a home in the CFL and has spent the last few seasons with the Montreal Alouettes until he was traded earlier this week.

Vernon Adams was the hero for Oregon Football when he arrived as a transfer from Eastern Washington a few years ago. He helped lead the team to the Alamo Bowl, then went undrafted and found a home in Canada.

In his last two seasons, both with Montreal, Vernon Adams saw playing time in three games in 2016 throwing 42 out of 75 passes for 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. He has spent 2017 on the bench before he was traded to Saskatchewan on Tuesday.

Adams comes to a team that will already feel like family. He was teammate with Quarterback Kevin Glenn and also with Brandon Bridge, both played for Montreal. Glenn signed a new contract with the Roughriders in January. One thing has always been consistent with Adams from his High School Days, till now.

Vernon Adams joins his third team in the CFL after being offered byt he BC Lions when he first left Oregon Football. His rights were traded to Montreal. His demeanor has always been to ‘help out and help the team win.’ It has been the same throughout his career.

Adams moves to a team where the Starter, Glenn, is aging. He is 38 and although the team is three deep at the position, there is certainly opportunity this season for the former Oregon Quarterback to get on the field and show off his biggest asset, his legs.
