Dion Jordan Suffers Setback, Could Be Cut By Seattle Seahawks
Former Oregon Duck Dion Jordan suffered an injury setback almost two weeks ago and he is now a longshot to make the roster in Seattle.
According to 247Sports, time is of the essence for the former Oregon Football Defensive End. He signed with Seattle in the offseason and after having surgery in June, has yet to see the field, but he may still have an opportunity. At the moment there are still roster spots to be won and key position battles to watch as the team enters the third week of the NFL Preseason this weekend.
Following a solid career with Oregon Football, Dion Jordan was a gamble by the Miami Dolphins, but injuries kept his playing time to a mimimum. With the Seattle Seahawks taking a chance on him, it was a low risk, high reward possibility that right now seems like it may not have even been worth the risk.
With the regular season getting closer, the chances that Dion Jordan will not only be ready to go, but football ready seems slim. His best option may be to land on the Practice Squad where he may find opportunity if someone on the starting squad is injured. It appears that Jordan has learned from the error of his ways in the NFL.
Though a good part of his first few seasons in the League, he was suspended for violating the substance abuse policy. Now his health may cost him a chance to return to the NFL for yet another season.
