Oregon Football has been affected by Wildfires that have scorched over 32,000 acres in the State as the smoke has inundated the Willamette Valley.
On Monday the Oregon Ducks took to the Oregon Coast for Practice to get out of the smoke filled Eugene/Springfield area. Tuesday the air was better, but forecasts say Saturday could see the return of the smoke and with it very unhealthy air. The Pac-12 Conference has been monitoring the situation for both Oregon and Oregon State and may have to prepare to shift game times this weekend depending on the situation.
According to USA Today and the Oregonian, the decision won’t be to cancel the games, but to reschedule them. A reschedule could be the same day, or another date decided between the schools in play. The decision likely won’t be made until Saturday for both the Ducks and Beavers. Oregon Football hosts Nebraska at 1:30pm Pacific Time. Oregon State is home in Corvallis to host Minnesota at 7pm Pacific Time.
Head Coach Willie Taggart and the Oregon Ducks practiced on Tuesday at the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex facility and the Outdoor Practice Fields. The Moshofsky Center, typically used for Indoor Practice when it is too windy or raining, will have the building air cleared and may be an option when the Air Quality becomes unhealthy later in the week.
