Oregon Football is off to a 2-0 start and two players are getting some early notice in the Heisman Trophy Race.

Before you get into the ‘were coming off a 4-8 season’ conversation, I realize this, but the fact that two Oregon Players – Running Back Royce Freeman and Quarterback Justin Herbert are a part of the conversation is key to Oregon returning to the National Spotlight.

Freeman enters the discussion at 20-1 while Herbert is back at 25-1. The front runners of the Pac-12 include USC Quarterback Sam Darnold at 5-1 with Josh Rosen, off a stellar performancevs  Texas A&M jumping to 6-1 Odds.

There is a long way to go in the College Football Season and teams like Oregon and UCLA have a long way to go to get not only team respect, but also an opportunity to work their way into the National Polls to show they are relevant in 2017. Oregon Football is a team that is rebuilding after a 4-8 season.

The tools are there for a good solid season that should have Oregon Football get to a mid level bowl game, but not the National Championship.

Quarterback Justin Herbert has been impressive through the air early on throwing for close to 650 yards and three touchdowns. Running Back Royce Freeman is healthy and showing it. He has six touchdowns and has helped the Oregon Offense to find their ground game early on.
