The Oregon Football Running Game appeared strong over the first two games of the season and their leader is close to several career milestones.

Oregon Senior Running Back Royce Freeman has played in a National Championship Game. He has also seen things fall apart around him in a 4-8 season. If the Oregon Ducks hope to contend for the Pac-12 this season, they will need his legs to help get them get there.

Freeman through two games has six touchdowns and he is just three scores shy of breaking the touchdown mark in Oregon Football history currently held by LaMichael James. Freeman is also working his way toward the top of the Pac-12 Conference list. He is also 17 rushing attempts from having the most in Oregon History, also currently held by LaMichael James.

Oregon Football’s strength this season has been the Running Game, led by Freeman. He started the year with 150 yards on the ground and 4 touchdowns against Southern Utah. Against Nebraska he had 153 yards and two touchdowns. One of the keys to his success has been the Offensive Line.

Last season the Ducks O-Line gave up 19 sacks on Quarterback Justin Herbert. This season – just one through two games. They have also done a good job of getting the push off the Line of Scrimmage under Coordinator Mario Cristobal. The success has also led to bigger holes for the Oregon Ducks Running Back Corps to get through for more yardage.
