Last time former Oregon Football Quarterback Marcus Mariota faced the Jacksonville Jaguars, it was a game worth forgetting ending his season and the Titans Playoff Hopes.

It was a clean slate on Sunday as Mariota took the field. Jacksonville’s vaunted Defense – or it appeared so after they beat the Texans last week – could not find the answer against Tennessee. Mariota was 15 for 27, throwing for 215 yards and a touchdown. It was a 37-16 win on the road for the third year Quarterback.

Last season, the Titans went into Jacksonville on Christmas Eve, and in a Playoff Race. Mariota broke his fibula and had to be carted off the field for what would be a very long offseason filled with ‘what if’s.’ Those ‘what if’s’ for 2017 became more clear with the win. The Tennessee Offensive Line was stout with protection allowing just one sack.

Derrick Henry had 92 yards on the ground and a touchdown. Delanie Walker also added a score for Tennessee. Rookie Tight End Jonnu Smith also hauled in a 32 yard touchdown from Mariota.

"It’s a very important win for us. It’s a brand-new year. Our whole focus, our main concern was being better in our division. And we were able to accomplish that today.Marcus Mariota on the win on Sunday(via TitansOnline)"

Jacksonville made an early statement last week with 10 Quarterback Sacks on Houston Texans Quarterbacks. Both teams will see each other again this season, but the Titans crossed a big win off their schedule, and a road win at that.
