Oregon Volleyball has quietly worked their way into the National Conversation. The team took a new coach and a 7 game winning streak to UCLA on Friday night.

Pac-12 Conference play opened on the road for the Ducks and the first set started out well with the team hitting on six straight points before the Bruins scored. The lead allowed Oregon to take the first set. The Bruins used power to come back and pull within two points before the road team was able to win the first set.

Oregon came out firing again in the Second Set. After holding the Bruins to a .043 hitting percentage through most of Set 1, the UCLA Bruins stormed back to win Set 2 and also take Set 3 and Set 4 to win the match.

Lindsay Vander Weide had 15 kills to go with 9 digs. Ronika Stone had 9 kills, 7 blocks, and 2 service aces in the loss. Oregon enters the Pac-12 part of the season with bounce back ability. The leadership of Vander Weide and Stone will go a long way this season.

Oregon Volleyball enters a tough stretch over the next week with two Pac-12 Top 25 teams. The schedule has the Ducks on the road for the rest of September with trips to Utah and Colorado ahead.
