Oregon Junior Safety Khalil Oliver has decided to leave the University of Oregon and transfer after graduation.

On Wednesday, Oregon Football lost some depth at the Safety position. Junior Khalil Oliver announced he was leaving the University of Oregon. According to the Idaho Statesman, he will wait until he graduates this winter before finding his next destination. Oliver was injured in the game against Southern Utah and has not appeared in any other games for the Ducks this season.

There was no specific reasoning given for why he wanted to leave Oregon. He can appeal and possibly get two seasons to play Collegiate Football at his next destination.

"I just felt like it was best for me to move on from the university and pursue other options.Safety Khalil Oliver via the Idaho Statesman"

Oliver’s Services are expressing interest with some schools, but not until 2018. Oregon Football entered the season having lost several former players to transfer, most notable at Quarterback. Since he has not been playing, the depth at the Safety position has not been as bad as it could have been with just a third of the regular season played.

Currently at Safety, Tyree Robinson is the experienced player with Freshman Nick Pickett learning quickly on the job. Juwaan Williams is also seeing time at the position. In 23 games for Oregon, Oliver had 73 tackles.  It is possible that Oliver saw the writing on the wall with the players ahead of him on the depth chart.
