Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans were crushed by the Houston Texans 57-14 on Sunday, but the score is not the whole story.

The Titans saw their Starting Quarterback finish just 6 for 10 for 96 yards. He also had a highlight reel worthy run past everybody into the endzone. On Monday Tennessee Titans Head Coach Mike Mularkey said they are taking things day to day with Mariota. If there is a week that Mariota can sit, it may be this week.

Tennessee is 2-2 on the year. The Miami Dolphins come in at 1-2 putting up an anemic 8 points pr game on Offense. The Titans have enough talent to get a win in South Florida with Matt Cassel leading the charge at Quarterback, if necessary. If there is a game that Mariota may be needed, it’s the following week.

An inter-divisional matchup with the Indianapolis Colts is on the horizon, and even through they may be without Quarterback Andrew Luck, the game is more important and has more relevance since it is within the division. Beating Jacksonville to begin the season was a solid first step to getting to the Playoffs this season, but the stumble on the road against Houston may not be so bad if they can get a win against the Colts

Mariota is the personality of the Tennessee Offense and it will be hard to see what they can do without him under center. I guess we’ll find out this week.
