Despite losing Quarterback Justin Herbert for a while, the team has been playing well and face Washington State in their third straight game after 5 pm this season.
The team, under first-year Head Coach Willie Taggart, has shown a vast improvement from last season already matching their 2016 win total at 4-8. Taggart and his Assistant Coaches know that the potential for the rest of 2017 could be much higher. Television Executives seem to have hedged their early bets on Oregon Football as well putting most of their games under the lights this season, both home and away.
The team is on the cusp of the Top 25 for the second time this season after a win over California. Oregon was a few votes away from being ranked 25th(they are just outside the poll at 26). Following an upset over USC last week the Washington State Cougars made a jump up to 10th this week.
A vastly improved Oregon Defense along with a high-powered through the air Offense should be must see tv this week in Eugene. There is, unfortunately, another factor at play this week for the Oregon Ducks. Over three series vs Cal, the Ducks lost key players of their Offense including Quarterback Justin Herbert and Running Back Royce Freeman. We already know that Herbert will be out for a while.
Who will Quarterback the Ducks? Will it be Freshman Braxton Burmeister or Senior Taylor Alie?
