Former Oregon Basketball Forward Dillon Brooks scored 19 points in a win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

It was Brooks first action in the NBA and he put on quite a show. Aside from coming off the bench, he logged 29 minutes for the Grizzlies. The former Duck was 7 for 13 from the floor and hit 4 of 5 from the free throw line. His performance was the highlight of the game in a 103-91 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Dillon Brooks was also a force on the Defensive end of the floor. For the game he had 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals. The Star for Memphis is Mike Conley, who had 27 points, but it appears early in the season that Conley may have some friendly competition from the Rookie.

The win for Memphis marked a new record for a franchise that won their home opener two seasons in a row. Brooks also set a new record for most points scored by a Canadian Born Player according to the Grizzlies PR Department.

It was a performance that was very reminiscent of what Brooks did at Matthew Knight Arena for the Oregon Ducks over the last two seasons. He showed he can play equally on both sides of the floor and be a big disruptor in the middle breaking up plays and also showed he is not afraid to drive the ball to the basket.

Dillon Brooks was not the only former Oregon Duck to have a solid debut. Jordan Bell played a role for Golden State on Wednesday night.
