Oregon Football: Darren Carrington Leads Utah Utes In Receiving
Oregon Football returns home to host Utah this weekend and it will be a homecoming of sorts for Wide Receiver Darren Carrington.
Okay, that’s just one of the story lines for this game There are plenty of others to follow. Both teams are looking for a Pac-12 Win. The Ducks and Utes come in losing three straight games. The Utah Defense did not show up last weekend against Arizona State in what ended up a lopsided loss in Salt Lake City. Oregon has issues of their own, but the Offense is improving under Freshman Quarterback Braxton Burmeister.
Oregon could get a shot in the Offensive Arm this week if Justin Herbert returns against Utah, which is a possibility according to Head Coach Willie Taggart.
The Ducks started off the season as the top scoring team in the nation, putting up over 60 points per game. That has pretty much been cut in half without Herbert at the helm. Last weekend, at UCLA, Braxton Burmeister showed improvement and had the game tied with his legs rushing for two scores before halftime. Royce Freeman became the All-Time Leading Rusher for Oregon Football as he pushed toward 1000 yards this weekend vs Utah.
Utah plays a multiple Quarterback system with Tyler Huntley and Troy Williams seeing the bulk of the load. Huntley his competing over 60 percent of his passes this season and a big reason why is Wide Receiver Darren Carrington. The former Duck is the Utes leading receiver averaging 14 yards per play and pulling in five touchdowns. The Utes have three receivers averaging over 10 yards per play.

On the ground Zach Moss has carried the ball 105 times for a 5 yard per carry average. He keeps Utah honest. Oregon Football has the backfield to watch on Saturday. If Oregon can be less one-dimensional and find some outlets with the passing game, the run game should put up some numbers.
