2017 Oregon Basketball vs Ball State Cheat Sheet
The Oregon Ducks(3-0) continue the regular season homestand facing the Ball State Cardinals(2-2).
Ball State has faced good competition early this season losing road games to Dayton and Oklahoma. They beat Stony Brook two days ago 87-76 before making the trip to Eugene to meet Oregon. The game will be the first time ever matchup between the two teams.
The player to watch for Ball State is Tayler Parsons, who has racked up 29 points vs Stony Brook. He has a good habit of putting up at least 20 points in a game and will be worth watching the Ducks Defense against him. He has had 20 points in 9 of 37 games he has played for the Cardinals.
Parsons teammate Kyle Mathers can also put up the points scoring 17 and 16 the last two games against Stony Brook and Oklahoma respectively. In averaging things out for Ball State, Parsons is averaging 15 points per game with Mallers putting in 12. Two other players are averaging at least 10 points per game early in the year.
Ball State Head Coach knows how to schedule teams early in the year. In his fifth season, the team came out West to play Oregon. The team is coming off back to back 20 win seasons and there is plenty to watch with a lot of points possible from both teams Sunday night at Matthew Knight Arena.
Oregon can’t look ahead to later this week and the Phil Knight Invitational and a Thursday night date with Connecticut and possible matchup over the weekend against Michigan State.
