Phil Knight Invitational: Oregon Ducks Miss Opportunities, Lose vs Uconn
The Oregon Men’s Basketball team struggled with three-pointers and had 17 turnovers in a loss to UConn.
The Oregon Ducks did not have their best performance against Connecticut and found foul trouble early. It plagued them for close to the entire game as team chemistry became an issue with Head Coach Dana Altman shuffling in players. Oregon shot just 5 for 24 from beyond the arc against Uconn. It was their first defeat of the young season in the Phil Knight Invitational.
MiKyle McIntosh was a bright spot for Oregon, netting his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Victor Bailey who played well in the Ducks first four games did not make a basket from the floor. He was 0 for 6 and 0 for 2 from three-point range. It was also a frustrating night for Freshman Troy Brown who was in foul trouble early. He finished with 6 points and 8 rebounds.
Oregon had 17 turnovers in the game and the refs called everything extremely tight all night. Free throws were also a problem with Uconn dropping 14 points from the Charity Stripe in the first half. It was not the best game, but at least it was consistent from the men in black and white. The Ducks did not help themselves. They shot just 33 percent from the floor and were even worse from beyond the arc.
