The Oregon Ducks found their shots on Friday Night to beat DePaul in Overtime 89-79.

The Phil Knight Invitational has seen ups and downs so far for Head Coach Dana Altman and the Oregon Men’s Basketball Team. The game against the Blue Demons saw Oregon outshoot the attempts for three-point baskets in a game. Oregon hit just under 40 percent from the floor landing 15 of 39 from beyond the arc.

Five Oregon Ducks scored in double figures led by Payton Pritchard who led with 29 points. He shot 9 for 16 from the floor and was a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Pritchard hit 7 of 13 from three-point range. Oregon had 15 turnovers but was efficient on Offense with 17 assists, 8 by Pritchard.

The Oregon Ducks Defense showed some extra effort as well Oregon had 5 blocks and 7 steals and held DePaul to just 4 for 21 shooting from three-point range for the game. The importance of games like this one are the teaching moments for Altman and the Coaching Staff. The game had a handful of lead changes and the adjustments that Oregon made without players getting into a lot of foul trouble early helped the team to get the win.

Altman and the Oregon Ducks now face a consolation game on Sunday against a team they have scrimmaged against the last two seasons. Oregon faces Oklahoma next. The closed scrimmage before the start of last season resulted in a loss. Last month, the two teams again had a closed scrimmage in Las Vegas, the results were not known, but the two teams will meet in a non-conference game in the Phil Knight Invitational.
