The Oregon Ducks Women’s Basketball team meets the Hampton Pirates Tuesday Night at Matthew Knight Arena.

Earlier this season Hampton beat North Carolina on the road and have had early season success against Power Conferences. They also have a win against San Jose State on the road from over the weekend.

Monn Finney-Smith leads Hampton averaging 15 points per game. Allina Starr and Jephany Brown are also scoring in double digits this season. Starr has 15 steals, but 17 turnovers for the Pirates, which leads the team. Expect Oregon to take advantage on the outside. As a team, Hampton is hitting 40 percent from the floor and 31 percent from three-point range. Their two wins, vs North Carolina and San Jose State, were by a combined 12 points. Their one close loss was against Virginia with their largest crowd they have seen early this season at just over 2500.

While Kelly Graves is in his third season with Oregon Basketball, Hampton Head Coach David Six is in his ninth season with the Pirates and is the longest-tenured coach of the program in their history. Last season the team went 11-5 in the MEAC. The challenge for Oregon Tuesday night may be playing without Ruthy Hebard.

Hebard is likely out. She was seen pregame with a boot on her right foot but in good spirits. Expect Mallory McGwire to see additional playing time and Maite Cazorla and Sabrina Ionescu to run the point for the Ducks.
