Oregon Football Is In A Better Place Than Before Willie Taggart arrived and the Ducks may be able to control the fallout if he leaves.

If Willie Taggart is flying back to Eugene to announce to his team that he is taking the job at Florida State and leaving the Oregon Ducks, he has left the program in a better place than before he arrived. Mark Helfrich was clearly not the answer as the locker room started to fall apart around him.

Taggart came in with a new energy and brought an All-Star Coaching Staff to Eugene. Jim Leavitt has the Oregon Defense is a much better spot than when he arrived. If Taggart leaves, he should be the choice for Interim Head Coach with Oregon playing in a bowl game in less than two weeks. Mario Cristobal has the experience and is also a potential Interim Head Coach Candidate. Oregon will need to look at the entire Coaching Staff and do their best to retain who they can.

On Monday, Taggart met with Oregon Quarterback Recruit Tyler Shough before meeting with Officials from Florida State. He had a scheduled meeting with another recruit, Miles Battle set for Monday evening but canceled that meeting after meeting with the Seminoles. It has been rescheduled for Tuesday morning.

The rumors of Taggart and Florida State have been all over Social Media the last few weeks. With the meeting taking place, the Oregon Head Coach has a decision to make. As far as his next move, we don’t know if he is flying back to Eugene right now or making his way to Houston to meet with Battle tomorrow as Head Coach of the Ducks.

The University of Oregon is starting to lose patience with the situation. Taggart is losing credibility with his current employer who has offered him a solid extension to remain with the Ducks.
