Oregon Women’s Basketball: Ducks Face Road Test At Mississippi State

The ninth-ranked Oregon Ducks Women’s Basketball team faces their toughest opponent of the season in undefeated and fifth-ranked Mississippi State on Wednesday.

Oregon can make a statement with a win on Wednesday on the road. The crowd in Starskville will be hostile. Sabrina Ionescu has played her part this season well. The Ducks are averaging 90 points per game and enter a stretch that sees the road for three of the next four games to close out the non-conference slate.

Mississippi State is averaging 8 points per game led by Victoria Vivians. She is averaging 19 points per game. Three players average in double figures. Teaira McCowan leads the Bulldogs with 104 rebounds through their 9 games this season and is the player to watch Wednesday night. Mississippi State enters the game undefeated on the season.

Sabrina Ionescu has been the key player for Oregon this season. The team has won five straight after losing to Louisville in the Preseason WNIT Final last month. Ionsecu is averaging over 8 assists per game. Ruthy Hebard has returned from an early season ankle injury and continues to be a solid presence inside for Head Coach Kelly Graves. Hebard is averaging 15 points per game and leads the team with 70 rebounds.

Lexi Bando is looking for the Pac-12 Mark for three-point attempts in her Senior season. Bando is hitting 47 percent from beyond the arc and has played in all 9 games to start the season. She is averaging 11 points per game.
