Oregon Football Extends Contracts For Three Assistant Coaches including Joe Salave’a and Marcus Arroyo.

Oregon Football has maintained three key assistants for 2018 and beyond. Earlier this week it was announced that Defensive Coordinator Jim Leavitt has signed a new deal to remain in Eugene. Two other assistant coaches will also call Oregon home for the next three years according to GoDucks.com.

Marcus Arroyo helped to steady Quarterback Justin Herbert following last season that saw him start mid-season as the team finished 4-8. In 2017, Arroyo helped establish the Ducks Passing Attack early that led to a fast start out of the gate that was derailed by an injury to Herbert when he broke his collarbone vs Cal.

Arroyo agreed to remain with the Oregon Ducks before Oregon faced Boise State last weekend. His deal is through the 2020 season. Arroyo will be Offensive Coordinator since Mario Cristobal is Head Coach. The Ducks will have Arroyo as the main voice calling the Offense for 2018.

Defensively, Oregon will maintain Defensive Line Coach Joe Salave’a who announced to his players over the weekend that he would remain in Eugene. Salave’a helped the Oregon Defense contain opponents. Jalen Jelks and Troy Dye showed important grown on the Line in 2017 that will only get better next season. Salave’a also signed a three-year extension with Oregon Football.

Mario Cristobal will have some decisions to make. Running Backs Coach Donte Pimpleton and Linebacker Coach Raymond Woodie will head to Florida State to join Willie Taggart.
