The first commitment of the Mario Cristobal era was JUCO All-American cornerback Haki Woods, who made his decision final by putting pen to paper Wednesday morning.

Woods, who is rated as the ninth-best JUCO cornerback, stands at a towering six foot three inches tall, projects to be a cornerback or safety in the Ducks defense.

Leavitt and cornerbacks coach Charles Clark, who is still undecided on returning, have made a living on defenses with rangy corners.

Woods definitely fits that bill.

He will join a defensive backfield class that includes four-star safeties Steve Stephens and Jevon Holland, as well as three-star corner back Verone McKinley.
