Oregon Women’s Basketball: Ducks Show Efficiency In Win vs Texas A&M
The Oregon Ducks Women’s Basketball team flexed their Offensive muscle early in a win over Texas A&M in Las Vegas.
Oregon Head Coach Kelly Graves took his team to Las Vegas to close out the non-conference slate in the Duel In The Desert. Their first opponent, Texas A&M had another chance to face Oregon this season and it did not go well. The Aggies saw key players in early foul trouble as Satou Sabally stepped up scoring early for the Ducks.
Sabally helped Oregon to 89 percent shooting in the first quarter. In the end, she was among four players in double figures. Maite Cazorla led with 26 points. Sabrina Ionescu finished with 25 points. Oregon held Texas A&M to 42 percent shooting for the game with four Aggies finishing the game with 3 or more fouls.
Ionescu and Cazorla took over the game combining for 51 points. They were 8 for 16 from three-point range combined. Satou Sabally played four minutes in the November game vs Texas A&M. She had more minutes and added consistency on Thursday with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
Oregon finished the game with 9 steals and never looked back from the opening tip. The Ducks started the game on a 5-0 run. The Ducks have won back to back games and will look to add one more before the start of Pac-12 play.
The Ducks face Hawaii in the Duel in the Desert on Friday before Christmas Break and the start of Pac-12 play on December 29th at Matthew Knight Arena. Oregon is undefeated at home so far this season.
