The Oregon Ducks showed they could overcome adversity and turnovers in Pac-12 win vs USC.

There are nights where you shoot well as a team, and nights that don’t go as planned. For the Oregon Ducks, the latter has not had much effect, until Friday night on the road against USC. Maite Cazorla led the way with 18 points and 6 assists. Sabrina Ionescu was not her usual self from the floor but earned her way to 16 points shooting 9 for 10 from the free throw line. She was just 3 for 11 from the floor.

The efforts of Cazorla and Ionescu were clear. Oregon opened the game with 7 points in the First Quarter, giving 14 points to USC. Oregon started the game 2 for 14 from the field, but closed the gap and took over the lead by halftime.

USC was the first real test for Oregon this season. The Trojans fought the entire game and had four players in double figures. It was a true road test for the Ducks early in the Conference season and despite 20 turnovers for the game, The Ducks Starters had just 6 turnovers. Oregon came through with a 70-66 road win to improve to 3-0 on the Pac-12 season.

Oregon shot 46 percent from the floor and hit over 97 percent from the free throw line, which was the difference in the game. USC made just 7 of 21 from beyond the arc. For USC, it was their third straight loss in the Pac-12 this season. The Trojans will look to rebound against Oregon State.
