The Oregon Ducks are off to an impressive start to the season, and at 15-2 have earned their highest AP Ranking ever.

Entering the weekend, the Oregon Women’s Basketball team was ranked 9th in the Nation. After their first-ever sweep of the Los Angeles schools on the road, they moved up to 8th. For some, it is not a surprise that in four seasons Head Coach Kelly Graves has built an Offensive powerhouse in Eugene. Oregon ranks in the Top five in scoring in the NCAA putting up close to 90 points per game. They faced a battle against UCLA on Sunday.

The UCLA Bruins kept the game close until the final minutes when Oregon was able to pull away thanks to Lexi Bando. Oregon opened the game with a 9-0 run and the UCLA Bruins finished the game missing their final 13 shots. The Oregon Ducks did not allow a Bruins Basket until just past the 6-minute mark in the first quarter.

The Oregon Ducks played sloppy with 18 turnovers, but overcame the adversity with timely shooting and landing 85 percent from the free throw line to pull away in the end for a 70-61 win. Three players were perfect from the charity stripe. Sabrina Ionescu was 7 for 9 finishing with 18 points and 9 rebounds.
