Jordan Bell Injures Ankle In Golden State Warriors Win Over Chicago
The Golden State Warriors will be without Rookie Jordan Bell after an ankle injury on the first play of the game vs Chicago on Wednesday.
Jordan Bell was a blocking specialist at Oregon. On Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls, his block on Robin Lopez was a standard play to start. The former Oregon Duck went up for the block, got his feet tangled and came down hard. He was on the floor for several minutes before being helped off with a wheelchair.
To that point, Jordan Bell had been a key player for the for the Golden State Warriors this season. Despite the loss of Bell, his teammates rallied for a 119-12 win over the Chicago Bulls as Bell watched from the visiting locker room. Following the game, Bell was made available to the media. He approached the media area on crutches.
The injury looked worse than it was. It was classified as an ankle sprain. Jordan Bell said he hoped to be back ‘sooner rather than later.’ An MRI was expected to be taken on Thursday, but x-rays showed there were no broken bones.
Bell spent a season on the mend with Oregon after suffering a foot injury following his Freshman season. One thing that he has shown is his comeback ability following a setback from injury. Jordan Bell proved to be one of the top shot blockers in the Pac-12 and the Nation in his remaining time with the Oregon Ducks.
