The Oregon Ducks Women’s Basketball team faces Oregon State in two Civil War Matchups this weekend.

For the Oregon Ducks, the season has gone to plan. The team has followed a blueprint set out by Kelly Graves four years ago. Now, that blueprint is in full force. Oregon has a team that can battle and score from anywhere on the floor. Now the team faces the challenge of beating a team that Graves has never won against in Oregon State.

The last time Oregon beat Oregon State was in 2011. Ruthy Hebard is the key player for Oregon. She has had multiple perfect shooting games this season, most recently against Arizona State going 9 for 9 from the floor. She will be up against one of the best in the Pac-12 Conference in Marie Gulich.

Gulich is the go-to player. She is a solid passer, helping Oregon State to 42 percent shooting from beyond the arc. She is also confident with her inside shot. The plays inside this weekend will be worth the watch. Both Oregon and Oregon State have a lot to play for.

On Thursday the NCAA announced the first round of the Top 16 Teams in the Country that will likely be in line to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Oregon Women came in as the 4th Number One Seed slated for the Spokane Region. Oregon currently ranks 7th in the Nation.

Of course, taking care of business this weekend will help get them there. The Oregon Ducks head to Corvallis to take on Oregon State Friday at 5 pm. The Beavers return the favor at Matthew Knight Arena on Sunday at 5 pm Pacific Time.
