With the hiring of Mike Vrabel as Head Coach, Marcus Mariota will benefit with a new staff that should use his talent more efficiently.

Last week the Tennessee Titans fired Mike Mularkey. Late last week they made the move to hire Mike Vrabel. The move could help Quarterback Marcus Mariota in a big way. Vrabel was Defensive Coordinator for the Houston Texans and Mariota was his target of attack, but now he has the former Oregon Quarterback in his corner.

According to TitansOnline, Vrabel is looking to make use of Mariota’s Talent in a way that will reflect better on the Offense. In letting Mularkey go and hiring a Defensive Mind in Vrabel, it is clear that the Assistant Coaches at Tennessee will also be on the way out.

Tennessee Titans Defensive Coordinator Dick LeBeau is out as Defensive Coordinator. He will likely retire after having a stellar career in the National Football League finishing his 59th consecutive year in the League as a Player or a Coach. In the coming days and weeks, Vrabel will put together his Coaching Staff. Look for some names from both the College Game and the NFL to fill his roster of Assistant Coaches.

Vrabel is a smart guy. He knows he has a Franchise Quarterback in Marcus Mariota and he knows that he needs to get his Quarterback help on Offense. This season Mariota threw more interceptions than touchdowns (15 to 13). It was his first full healthy season in the NFL for the most part. He had a lingering leg injury that he played through in the last month of the season.

The Tennessee Titans made the Playoffs for the first time with Mariota at Quarterback earlier this month losing to the New England Patriots in Foxboro in the Divisional Round.
