The Oregon Ducks have opened the season 3-0 at the Kajikawa Classic and Gwen Svekis has hit a home run in three straight games.

While there was not much doubt of the Oregon Offense entering the 2018 season, Gwen Svekis is on a different level when she is at the plate. She started the season with a home run against Georgia and has not let up.

Miranda Elish started the second game in the Kajikawa Classic against Fresno State and threw a close to perfect five innings. The Oregon Offense racked up 10 hits in an 8-0 run rule effort. Mary Iakopo was a perfect 3 for 3 and Leadoff Hitter Alexis Mack went 2 for 3 with an RBI. The Ducks hit .476 for the game holding Fresno State to .079. Oregon has had multiple games with better than 8 hits.

In the second game of the doubleheader on Friday vs CSUN Maggie Balint was in the circle and continued the Ducks dominant pitching. She had a little help from her friends. Shannon Rhodes and Transfer DJ Sanders both hit home runs. Gwen Svekis hit her third home run of the young season as Oregon. The Ducks put up 15 runs in their second run-ruled game of the day winning 15-6.

Gwen Svekis is leading the team in hits and runs with 6. She also had 3 home runs and 6 RBI’s through the first three games of the season. She is batting at a .750 clip. Shannon Rhodes is not far behind with 7 runs, 6 hits, and a double to go with 3 home runs of her own.
