Oregon Ducks Take Care Of Business vs Washington State

The Oregon Ducks have won back to back games in sweeping both Washington and Washington State over the weekend.

Ruthy Hebard stepped up and took over in both games scoring 40 points against Washington and 39 against Washington State earning Pac-12 Player of the Week honors and keeping her team in the driver’s seat in first place in the Pac-12 entering this week.

Oregon shot 62 percent from the field against the Cougars and just over 40 percent from three-point range. Lexi Bando returned from injury to give the Ducks a boost to start the second half with 9 points hitting from beyond the arc. The Oregon Ducks won every quarter except for the third.

Both teams showed Offensive Efficiency. The Ducks had 24 Assists to Washington State who finished with 22. Oregon saw the free throw line hitting 18 of 19 shots making the key difference in the game The Cougars saw the line just 6 times in the game. For the Oregon Ducks, it was a must-win weekend and they went on the road and took care of business.

Oregon remains ranked 9th  in the AP Poll this week with a big game next Monday against 7th ranked UCLA at Matthew Knight Arena. Up first, another important game on Friday against the USC Trojans. While Lexi Bando was out, Mallory McGwire played well. She may get a few more starts as Bando returns to Starting form. She had limited minutes against Washington State but made the most of them.
