Despite losing at USC, a win at UCLA could give the Oregon Ducks a boost with two big games at home next week.

On Thursday, the Oregon Ducks looked out of it against the USC Trojans. Shots were not falling, sequences were no working, and bad fouls were being called. If there is one thing Head Coach Dana Altman is good at, it is getting a team past a rough outing. Up next, another big game against the UCLA Bruins.

If there was a good win for Oregon it was last month at Arizona State – at least that was what we thought then. The Sundevils have been Jekyll and Hyde this season most recently beating the Bruins and keeping it close Thursday losing by just 7 points to Arizona. Oregon will need to play a lot better to get a win against UCLA. It is the final home game for UCLA in the Regular Season and Senior Day at Pauley Pavillion will likely be high on emotion.

UCLA Senior Thomas Welsh has been playing well of late. He pulled down 17 rebounds against Oregon State in a win on Thursday. Aaron Holiday is averaging 19 points per game in Pac-12 play this season, good enough for fourth in League Play. Welsh has put up 15 double-doubles this season averaging 13 points and 10 rebounds per game and is the key player to watch on Saturday.

Oregon has beaten UCLA already this season at home thanks to the free throw shooting of Payton Pritchard. The Ducks need the win to keep pace in a crowded Pac-12 Conference race.
