Oregon Ducks Softball Remains Dominant, Run Rules Rutgers and Texas

The Oregon Ducks Softball team has been on fire since the start of the season and are now 9-0 following two run-ruled games on Friday.

Oregon took no mercy in either game taking care of business with speed on the bases and hits at the plate against Rutgers and Texas. Starting Pitcher Maggie Balint went the distance throwing five innings of two-hit ball with four strikeouts. The Oregon Offense was back at it. Leadoff Hitter Alexis Mack went 2 for 2. Third Baseman Jenna Lilley was 3 for 3 for the game.

The Oregon Ducks had 10 hits and 5 walks in the game scoring 10 runs by way of an RBI. Oregon hit .474 as a team and in the clutch with two outs were over the .300 mark. The Ducks also hit at a .500 clip with runners in scoring position to beat Rutgers 10-0.

In the second game of the doubleheader vs Texas Oregon turned to Miranda Elish who pushed her scoreless streak to 15 innings with the win. Elish allowed just three hits and struck out seven over five innings as the Oregon Offense was again in the lead role.

The Oregon Offense led by Jenna Lilley who was 2 for 2 against Texas continued to impress. Transfer DJ Sanders hit her second home run in two days giving her six on the season to lead the team. Lilley was 7 for 7 on the day and leads the team with 16 Runs Batted In this season. Alexis Mack also stayed hot going 2 for 3 to help set the table against Texas in an 8-0 win.

Oregon wraps up the Puerta Vallarta College Challenge on Saturday with a single game against Ole Miss. First pitch is set for 6 pm Pacific Time.
