Former Oregon Ducks Royce Freeman, Tyrell Crosby, and Tanner Carew look to hit the ground running in the NFL Combine early Friday Morning.
The NFL Combine officially begins on Friday for College Athletes throughout the country. This week players have descended upon Indianapolis for the four-day event. Three former Oregon Ducks have had a busy few days going through physicals and talking with the brass from teams around the National Football League.
Running Back Royce Freeman, Offensive Lineman Tyrell Crosby and Long Snapper Tanner Carew will get to work on the field starting early on Friday Morning. Carew and Crosby will take part in the 40-yard Dash starting at 6 am Pacific time after Rich Eisen likely does his traditional run in full suit and dress shoes.
Freeman will get to sleep in – a little. He takes part in the Vertical Jump just after 9 am Pacific Time. Tyrell Crosby and Tanner Carew are grouped together and will be in Group 6. Freeman is in Group 3 for Running Backs and will be put through the paces of the NFL Combine throughout the morning looking to make an impression with a chance to move up the Draft Board.
Penn State Running Back Saquan Barkley showed why he is ahead of the Class putting up a 29 on the Bench Press. Royce Freeman had 17. Friday could be a good day for Freeman. He showed his durability throughout the 2017 season for Oregon finishing his career setting a new mark for the position, breaking the record set by LaMichael James.
It was reported that earlier in the week Freeman had the chance to speak with representatives from the San Francisco 49ers and he will soon be meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Freeman enters the NFL Combine as a likely third or fourth round NFL Draft Pick. His performance starting Friday could help him make a significant move from Day 2 to Day 1. The 2018 NFL Draft is set for April 26th-28th.
