Pac-12 Women’s Tournament: Oregon Ducks Face Colorado Buffaloes
The Women’s Pac-12 Tournament begins for the Oregon Ducks Friday against the Colorado Buffaloes.
The Oregon Ducks had a bye of sorts for the opening round of the Women’s Pac-12 Tournament in Seattle on Thursday. Head Coach Kelly Graves and the team arrived late on Wednesday and prepared for a faceless opponent on Friday morning. Now, that opponent has a name.
Oregon faces the Colorado Buffaloes.
Kennedy Leonard was the Player of the Game against Utah on Thursday hitting 7 of 10 shots from the floor for a team-leading 15 points. Colorado shot 44 percent holding Utah to 38 percent from the floor in a 66-55 win. The Buffaloes now meet Oregon on Friday.
The Oregon Ducks had one game with Colorado during the Pac-12 Regular season. It was a road win in Boulder for the 27-4 Ducks. It was one of four road sweeps that Oregon had throughout the season. Oregon Senior Lexi Bando missed the first matchup with a leg injury that cost her a handful of games as the season wound down. She has since returned to be the spark on Offense for Oregon.
Ruthy Hebard led the way against Colorado shooting 9 for 14 from the floor and pulling down 9 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu had 14 points and led the team with 8 assists.
Oregon is Primed for a solid NCAA Tournament run and it all begins on Friday morning. Oregon would like to be the Pac-12 Qualifier for the NCAA Tournament and needs to win three games in three days. Head Coach Kelly Graves knows it is a pretty simple process with one game and opponent at a time. His team is good not looking ahead.
