The Oregon Ducks(19-11, 9-8 Pac-12) struggled in the second half against Washington State(12-17, 4-13 Pac-12) and lost 78-76 on Thursday night.

In the first half, Oregon jumped out to a double-digit lead. It appeared Troy brown was getting out of his road slump. Paul White saw the floor for just 9 minutes scoring a single point and finding foul trouble. The second half was a comeback battle for the Oregon Ducks. They lost the game on the final possession as a Payton Pritchard three-point shot missed at the buzzer. The loss likely ends the Ducks chance at making the NCAA Tournament.

Washington State saw the return of Robert Franks to the lineup. He did not play against Oregon in Eugene. Franks had 19 points hitting 50 percent from the floor. As a team, the Huskies hit 52 percent from the floor. Malachi Flynn shot 9 for 16 from the floor and had a team-high five assists for WSU.

Road games this season have not been friendly to the Oregon Ducks. Paul White struggling with four early fouls did not help. The Ducks will not have a favorable position in the Pac-12 Tournament with the loss to Wazzu.

The Oregon Ducks finish the Pac-12 Regular season against the Washington Huskies who beat Oregon State by two points on Thursday night. The teams will battle for the #6 Seed in the Pac-12 Tournament next week in Las Vegas.

The Ducks will need a win Saturday and a better than average showing next week, likely needing to win the Pac-12 Tournament to take the Conference’s Automatic bid otherwise Oregon will play in the NIT and likely host a game at Matthew Knight Arena.
