Oregon Ducks Starter Matt Mercer threw into the seventh inning and the Oregon Bullpen held off a ninth-inning rally by Florida Atlantic for a 2-1 win.

The Oregon Ducks opened a four-game series against Florida Atlantic. FAU Starter Jake Miednik had an ERA of 0.68 with two wins to start the game. It was smooth sailing early for the Owls. For Oregon, Matt Mercer was dealing early in the game but a hit in the top of the third led to an Oregon Infield Error. The Ducks got out of the inning unscathed as both teams had runners 90 feet away from scoring in the first three innings.

Evan Williams started the bottom of the third inning with a hit for the Ducks, but it took till the bottom of the fourth for the first run of the inning. Jakob Goldfarb drove in Spencer Steer to make it 1-0 Oregon with two outs in the inning. Kenyon Yovan grounded out to end the inning.

The Oregon Ducks got to Miednik again in the seventh inning. Ryne Nelson singled and moved to third base on a flyout by Ray Soderman. Nelson scored on a wild pitch giving Oregon a 2-0 lead with Kenyon Yovan at second base with two outs.

Matt Mercer was relieved by Parker Kelly in the seventh after allowing an FAU base runner. He gave up just three hits and struck out six. Parker Kelly is 3-0 on the season.

Andru Summerall hit a ball to deep left field for a double and an RBI scoring Cody Wilson and pulling the Owls to within a run, 2-1. Parker Kelly worked his way out of the inning after hitting Tyler Frank and watching him steal second base. David Miranda grounded out to second base.

Kelly and Kenyon Yovan closed out the game, but not before FAU threatened with two men on in the bottom of the ninth. Yovan got the final out to end the game giving Oregon a 2-1 win, their seventh on the season.
