More At Stake For Washington Huskies vs Oregon Ducks
The Oregon Ducks and Washington Huskies wrap up the Pac-12 Regular season on Saturday.
Both teams still have something to play for. The winner earns the 6 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas next week. Washington enters the game on a three-game winning streak, including beating Oregon State on Thursday.
For the Oregon Ducks, Head Coach Dana Altman is still trying to figure out what went wrong not only against Washington State Thursday night but for the season. Oregon has not performed well on the road this season. While Troy Brown had his best road game against the Cougars shooting 7 for 10 from the floor, Paul White had two early fouls and was ineffective with just 9 minutes in the game.
Without a player to help Kenny Wooten and to add some key Offensive points, the Cougars made the Ducks pay, pushing their lead into the second half and picking up just their fourth win of the season as a Payton Pritchard final second shot missed.
Washington and Oregon have been similar. The Huskies are far better at home and are 20-10 on the season. Despite both teams having records that appear close, Washington is playing better entering March.
Noah Dickerson and Jaylen Nowell have been the key players for Washington this season. Both have more than a handful of 20 point games this season. Nowell is the second leading Freshman scorer in the Pac-12 with over 15 points per game.
