The Oregon Ducks were due for a ‘Gut Check’ game and they got it in the Pac-12 Tournament Semifinal against the UCLA Bruins on Saturday, winning 65-62.
Oregon was down late in the fourth quarter when Lexi Bando hit a three-pointer pulling Oregon within a point. The Ducks never looked back taking the lead and holding the Bruins off the scoreboard for the final five minutes of the game.
An attempted three-pointer at the buzzer that would have tied the game fell short and the Oregon Ducks survived to get to their first Pac-12 Women’s Final against the Stanford Cardinal on Sunday.
Satou Sabally has played well this season, but the UCLA Bruins were ready for her holding the Freshman to just 1 for 8 shooting, but her teammates stepped up. Four players finished in double figures for Oregon led by Sabrina Ionescu with 17. Ruthy Hebard had 15 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double
as the Ducks outrebounded UCLA 39-31. The Offensive Efficiency battle was close with the Ducks taking it 10 Assists to 9 for the Bruins.
The Benches of both teams did not see a lot of the floor. The teams combined for just 17 bench points for the game. Oti Gildin made hers count the most for the Ducks hitting a key shot giving Oregon the lead with 17 seconds remaining.
