The Oregon Ducks won their first Pac-12 Championship with a win over the Stanford Cardinal on Sunday night.

After Stanford took an early lead 13-6, the Oregon Ducks picked up their Offense and never looked back. Satou Sabally was injured in the previous game against UCLA, but was able to play against Stanford. She had 12 points and was 3 for 5 from three-point range. Ruthy Hebard was contained by the Cardinal finishing with 11 points but the storyline was the performance by Sabrina Ionescu.

Ionescu hit just about everything she aimed the ball at. She finished with 36 points, a Pac-12 tournament record and was 4 for 10 from beyond the arc. The Oregon Ducks won the turnover battle by three, 16-13 and made the most of the Cardinals’ errors turning them into 24 points.

Both teams shot the ball well with the Ducks hitting 50 percent. Stanford was right behind missing a shot that would have sent the game to Overtime. The Cardinal finished the game hitting 49 percent.

For the Oregon Ducks, the waiting game begins as other teams play in the respective Conference Tournaments. Oregon is among one of the first teams to not only win the Pac-12 Regular Season Championship but also their Conference Tournament. I would think this could hold some weight with the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee.
