Pac-12 Tournament: Oregon Ducks Fight To Find Consistency
The Oregon Ducks and Washington Huskies meet for the second time in less than a week Wednesday at the Pac-12 Tournament.
Oregon heads to the Pac-12 Tournament as an 8 seed. On Monday, Head Coach Dana Altman took some time to reflect on the frustrations this season, “Really disappointed in our consistency…we have some good moments where our guys really seem to get it, play really well….then we have some moments we play like Freshman.”
In order for Altman and the Ducks to make it to their eighth straight NCAA Tournament playing like the latter won’t get them there. The Oregon Ducks played their best road game of the season against Washington on Saturday night.
Troy Brown put together solid outings last week going 7 for 10 against Washington State and 5 for 12 against the Huskies. Paul White was able to stay out of early foul trouble to score 12 points against Washington as Oregon won the game 72-64. The Ducks outrebounded Washington 37 to 29 and had 17 assists led by Troy Brown with 6.
The Oregon Ducks now enter the Pac-12 Tournament needing to win four games in four days. Altman said he would be happy with two wins, but four is a guarantee into the NCAA Tournament. Game time is on the side of the Ducks.
"Arizona is the best team. They won the league by two or three games…they’re the favorite…After that there’s a lot of teams in that next group.Head Coach Dana Altman on the Pac-12 Tournament"
With the side of the bracket Oregon is on, all of their games will be the final game of the day with the exception of the Championship game. Oregon’s first three opponents should be familiar. The Ducks face Washington State first and have to win to play Utah. The potential Semifinal matchup is against either Oregon State or Washington.
