The Oregon Ducks took two of three games from the UCLA Bruins with the finale coming in dramatic fashion.

For the most part, the series went as many thought. Two teams playing well with the Pitchers getting the attention. UCLA came into Jane Sanders Stadium undefeated on the season so far. They beat Megan Kleist on Friday giving her the 4th loss of her season and first in Pac-12 play. Miranda Elish stepped up and the Oregon Offense put up three runs in the first two innings.

In Game two, the Oregon Ducks hit .360 as a team and .333 with runners in scoring position. They began finding their efficiency early against UCLA Starter Ta’amilo. She gave up six hits and four runs in three innings. UCLA bounced back in the later innings putting up 5 runs in the final two frames, but Oregon held on for a 7-5 win. The victory marked the first loss for the Bruins this season.

The third game of the series saw Megan Kleist throw a complete game scattering six hits and allowing no runs. It was a pitchers duel till the bottom of the seventh when UCLA Starter Rachel Garcia blinked throwing a ball over the plate. Shannon Rhodes connected hitting a three-run home run giving Oregon a 3-0 win and a 2-1 Series victory.

More importantly, the Oregon Ducks now also hold the top RPI in the Nation and moved up a spot to 5th in the Rankings. UCLA remains ahead of Oregon since they have more wins.
