Former Oregon Ducks Quarterback Marcus Mariota showed again on Saturday why he is as cool as they come when it comes to an NFL Quarterback.
Saturday at Nissan Stadium was a day for Special Olympics. Mariota was just being himself. Rather than being there to simply sign autographs and shake hands, the former Oregon Quarterback came ready to play. He threw passes, ensuring that every participating player caught a ball going above and beyond for the Special Olympics and their athletes.
For those of us who knew Marcus when he was at Oregon. The gesture of his appearance on Saturday is not much of a surprise. With the Oregon Ducks, Mariota was a quiet leader. He did things the right way and that continues in his career in the National Football League. While it was a simple gesture to simply throw passes on Saturday, it meant more for those in attendance and the media took notice.
Marcus Mariota has been busy over the last month working out with teammates and preparing for the upcoming season. The first official team meeting for the Tennessee Titans is set for Monday. Mariota also took part in an event last week for the team. The Titans enter their 20th season in the NFL and unveiled new uniforms last week in downtown Nashville.
Mariota helped lead the Tennessee Titans to their first playoff appearance in his time with the team last season. Tennessee lost to the New England Patriots in the second round of the NFL Playoffs.
