The Oregon Ducks lost another quality start by a Starting Pitcher on Sunday and had no answers on Offense vs Washington State.

The Oregon Ducks were looking for their first sweep of a Pac-12 team since 2016 after taking the first two games against Washington State in a Friday Doubleheader. Oregon had home momentum and had consistency in their rotation in recent weeks. Kolby Sommers got the ball for the Ducks, but the Oregon Offense was unable to get a hit against the Cougars.

The Ducks not only lost the final game of the series at home but were also no-hit at PK Park after a promising start to the three-game series with WSU. Sommers threw six innings giving up six hits and three runs while striking out four.

Scotty Sunitsch saw his second start of the weekend and was stellar throwing nine innings and recording nine strikeouts vs the Oregon Ducks.

After leaving 27 men on base last week in the final two games against Arizona and San Francisco, the Oregon Ducks were 0 for 26 from the plate in the final game with Washington State. After a promising start to the weekend with back to back wins with Matt Mercer and Kenyon Yovan earning series-clinching wins, Sommers was able to maintain the momentum on the mound for the second straight weekend.

The Ducks also had several Defensive miscues that have plagued them this season allowing a Washington State baserunner to steal second when all the Ducks had to do was apply the tag.
